&lt;p&gt;And anyway, if some user wants to write a skype plugin for their personal needs (like what happened with the current Kopete plugin), you can't prevent it. It happened. If you want support for another one, someone has to write the code. And that is more difficult to happen when the userbase of a system is smaller.&lt;/p&gt;
